About the place

Quiet, orchards, and a rose-covered pergola.

Stone column with climbing roses and rolling hills beyond

Orchard Manor is a private property in the village of Ocișor, five kilometres from Vața de Jos. Two wooden cabins set side by side — three bedrooms in total, two bathrooms, a garden between them with a pergola and stone grill, an orchard at the back and a field of roses at the front.

We let the whole property. No other guests, no reception, no schedule. Only you, the cabins, and the quiet of the Apuseni.

Made for small groups stepping out of the city — three couples, an extended family, or friends who would rather linger over a long dinner with wine than queue for a crowded restaurant.

Made for those who prefer wine and a long table.

The smaller cabin — Cabana Mică — holds one bedroom and a bathroom. The larger one — Cabana Mare — holds two more bedrooms, a kitchen, and the second bathroom. All three rooms have a double bed; all are built from solid wood, insulated, heated, air-conditioned.

Both bathrooms are modern, finished in stone — rainfall shower, hot water, LED mirror. In the larger cabin, the kitchen and the second bedroom have their own outdoor entrances — you step through the garden between them.

Outside

The pergola, the grill, the orchard.

The roses, late May.
Lunch is eaten outside. Here, that is not a suggestion — it is a rule.

The pergola has a wooden table for eight. String lights at night. Roses on the arch from May to October.

The stone grill, built into the terrace, is enough for a long dinner with friends. Beech wood cut in the back, ready.

Behind — the orchard, the sun loungers, the hammock between two posts. In front — the rose field and the view to the Apuseni ridge.

Weathered planter.

Built years before us. The wood has earned its colour. Geraniums every spring.

Blue hour, the cabin.

The lamp inside, the mist outside. Twenty minutes a day, twice. Don't miss them.

Hammock between two posts, a reader inside

The hammock.

Strung between two posts in the back garden. Always taken first. Worth the small dispute.

A day here

A daily ritual in three parts.

Two cabins under a soft morning sky
Morning

Coffee on the pergola.

The espresso machine is ready. Take the cup outside. The pergola is still in shade, and the mountain is violet in the first hour of the day.

Afternoon

Short drives, big hills.

Roșia Montană is forty-five minutes away. Vața de Jos is five. Cascada Vânătărilor is an hour. Or, if you choose otherwise, a long book in the hammock.

Pergola at dusk with warm string lights
Evening

Fire on the grill, wine on the pergola.

The wood is cut. The wine, whichever you brought, is better here. Dinner lasts as long as it needs to last.

Frequently asked

What to know before booking.

How many rooms are there, and what's the capacity?

Three bedrooms across two wooden cabins — one in Cabana Mică (the smaller cabin), two in Cabana Mare (the larger). Each has a double bed. Maximum: six guests. Two modern bathrooms finished in stone, one per cabin.

Do you rent by the room or the whole property?

Whole property only — both cabins, the garden, the pergola. We don't host other guests in parallel; the place is yours for the duration of your stay.

Is the kitchen fully equipped?

Yes — fully fitted, in Cabana Mare: gas hob, espresso machine, sandwich press, fridge, plates and cutlery for six. The kitchen has its own door to the garden, as does the second bedroom — you step outside to move between them. You bring the groceries, or pick them up in Vața de Jos.

Is there an outdoor toilet on the property?

Yes — about 40-60 m from the cabins, behind the orchard. Useful for long days spent outside, when you'd rather not walk in and out of the house. The main facilities remain the two modern, stone-finished bathrooms inside the cabins.

What's the minimum stay?

Two nights. For longer stays (a week or more) we can offer an adjusted rate.

How do I get there? Is the road OK with a regular car?

Country road to the village, the last kilometre is gravel. Doable with any car in dry weather; in winter we recommend proper tyres. We send a Google Maps pin once a booking is confirmed.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in from 15:00, check-out by 11:00. Both are flexible — message us on WhatsApp if you have other plans.
